This year’s fiddle contest will be held on Saturday, October 4th at the Mississippi State Fairgrounds in Trade Mart exhibit hall C at 11:00a.m.
Who may participate:
This contest is open to any fiddlers and instrumentalist in their respective divisions.
Contest Categories:
Small Fry (Ages 4-8)
Junior (Ages 9-13)
Senior (Ages 14-18)
Grand Master Champion (All Ages)
Judging:
Three (3) qualified judges will give scores ranging from 0-10 in 3 categories: Intonation, Tone Quality and Rhythm and Timing for each tune. The scores from each category will then be calculated to help determine the winners in each category. All decisions of the Judges will be final.

JUNIOR

SENIOR

rules:
Contestants must play a hoedown first followed by a waltz. See tune sample list for suggested tunes.
You do not have to choose your tunes from the sample list.
Each contestant is allowed up to three accompanists on stage.
Contact microphones and amplified instruments will not be permitted.
No cross-tuning allowed.
No sheet music. (Accompanists may have chord sheets.)
Contestants will appear in order of registration.
Each contestant must register by filling out the provided registration form and remitting their entry fee.
